Terminology Subset Builder
The Terminology Subset Builder plug-in allows expert clinical / terminology professionals to visually define subsets in the form of queries against the terminology.
When using a structured terminology such as SNOMED CT, the query result is structured in the same form as the original terminology.
Subsets are stored in the Terminology subset service, for immediate runtime use by applications and knowledge building tools.
Subset queries can include the following semantics:
- Single terms or lists of terms corresponding to a particular use;
- One or more hierarchies of terms within SNOMED based on one or more terms that provide the root concept to which all other concepts have an 'IS_A' relationship;
- One or more hierarchies based on a root concept that has one or more terms that have some other relationship such as 'part_of' or even a mixture of relationships;
- The ability to build a list of single concepts;
- The ability to exclude nodes and all terms subsumed by a term;
- The ability to include nodes for navigation but not selection by the user;
- The ability to base a subset on a parent subset definition.
